Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Fund

Each year the Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship Foundation awards scholarships to assist financially disadvantaged, deserving young men and women in pursuit of education, preferably leading to careers in fields of aviation, aerospace, and science technology. The number of available scholarship awards is directly related to income received from investments. Forty (40) awards of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00) will be awarded. The awards are for one year only.

The East Coast Chapter accepts applications from scholars in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland. Students must apply through their local chapters. Find out where to apply using our list of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. chapters. 


Tuskegee Airmen Presidential Memorial Grants

These grants are in memory of past presidents of the ECCTAI. Six grants are awarded each year.

Alonzo Smith, Jr. Memorial Grant
Broadus N. Butler Memorial Grant
Philip F. Lee Memorial Grant
Harry A. Sheppard Memorial Grant
Ernest J. Davis, Jr. Memorial Grant
C. Gordon Southall Memorial Grant


Vernon and Anna Hamilton Memorial Grant

This grant is in memory of Vernon Hamilton who dedicated his efforts to helping youth interested in aviation. One grant is awarded.


ECCTAI Continuing Grants

Up to four grants are awarded to recipients of previous grants.

 

Application Instructions

Tuskegee Airmen, Incorporated East Coast Chapter is a local volunteer organization of military and civilian professionals and enthusiasts who are dedicated to expanding the world of aviation and historical legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen to the local community.

Each year, the Tuskegee Airmen Inc. assist financially disadvantaged deserving young men and women in pursuit of education, preferably leading to careers in the fields of aviation aerospace, and science technology.

To apply please download the 2012 Application Form (PDF) and submit the form as a double-sided (front and back) document. After downloading and printing the form, photocopy the second page onto the back of the first page. We can accept this form only if you present it on 1 piece of paper as a double-sided document.

Applicants must be students who have graduated or will graduate from high school in the school in the 2011-2012 school year. All applications will be considered but applying students should have a grade point average (GPA) of three points (3.0) on a four-point scale.

Completed applications must be returned on or before January 14, 2012 to:

Education Assistance Grant awardees may enroll in the institution of their choice. Upon completion of enrollment, the school registrar must send verification of enrollment and curriculum to the TAI East Coast Chapter. When the required verifications have been received, individual award payments will be made.
